"The night is full of stories, and the stars are alive." ~ Jeanette Winterson
Dear Reader,
On this World Poetry Day, I offer Stargazer of the Soul as a constellation of hope and connection. As its verses unfold, may they light your path and transform longing into belonging beneath the stars.
Stargazer of the Soul
At dawn, as the first light stretches tenderly across the horizon and Venus gleams as a sentinel of love, I begin to write. The world, hushed and expectant, feels alive with infinite possibility. Each word takes shape on my page – a spark, a star, a thread in the ever-expanding constellation of connection. In this sacred, fleeting hour, I map the light and shadow of being, knowing poetry is as vital as the air I breathe.
Then I pause, letting the verses rest like dew-kissed petals under Father Sun’s warmth. As the hours pass, life unfolds in its ceaseless flow, and I drift beneath the ever-changing sky, attuned to its rhythms. By dusk, when the stars awaken one by one, I return to my page. Enriched by the echoes of the day, my reflections transform into something greater – a mirror of hope, a testament to the bravery within us all.
This gathering of words is no ordinary creation. They glow with Orion’s boldness, Lyra’s grace, and the guiding wisdom of the planets – a celestial compass for the soul. Each verse hums with life, its imperfections transformed into art. Together, my lines stretch across the ageless face of Mother Moon, guiding me to trace Her radiant pathways and find sanctuary where my vulnerability blossoms into strength.
And even as twilight deepens, this constellation holds steady, its lines uniting heart, hope and horizon. Within each word rests a truth – a glimmer of my soul, offered with trembling courage. I hope this poem finds you, dear stargazer of the soul, and lights your path. May it weave through the oceans between us, guided by the silent pull of the tides, turning longing into belonging – one luminous word at a time.
Yours in words, Deborah

Hi Deborah, I feel this connection to nature — to the universe. I became conscious of my breathing as I read this — took some pause to feel it — how we are one with all, in every moment. Thank you. 🙏 😊 💜
As the moon's shade sways her light into the seeping orange of another morn ...
Thank you for helping me cherish the earth with your dancing words. I love learning about your writing process and the planets where you live, especially since I'm doing less writing. Instead I'm ordering seeds (far too many, as usual) for the spring gardens. (My own "mirror of hope"). My helper put up 3 new bluebird boxes in new spots and removed the old ones because bluebirds prefer new housing. I've been learning more about how to save the bluebirds from aggressive House Sparrows (it isn't easy!), so this is a last try.
Orion has been a bright companion out my south bedroom window for many winter months, and Mars has now become an evening star. We're having an unusual run of clear night skies, but Orion still shows up late in the east and slowly glides across the southern sky until he sets in early morning. I'm forever grateful for the beautiful open skies where I live. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your sky and your words and mystical images. May we all live in peace. Sending you love across the spring skies.
